Outlining best practice for charities engaged in legacy
fundraising, the current Code of Fundraising Practice: Legacy Fundraising,
is to be revised to include details of the full legacy process, including
administration, management and fulfilment of a gift. It will also be updated
with information about new legislation.
Jonathan Parris, director of the Legacy Promotion Campaign,
said: “As legacies raise over £1.3bn for charities each year,
best practice is absolutely essential. The revised Code will undoubtedly
serve as a catalyst for charities looking to raise the standard, fluency
and efficiency in all aspects of their legacy fundraising process”.
The Schema for the proposed revisions has been published
on www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk.
