The Queen and Duke
of Edinburgh are to honour 300 volunteers tomorrow in a special service
at Buckingham Palace.
The reception, which
is part of the Year of the Volunteer celebrations, is to recognise the
contribution of UK volunteers for their work helping others.
Among the individuals
they will meet are volunteers from St Johns Ambulnace, Red Cross, CSV
and the Refugee Council.
Dame Elisabeth Hoodless,
executive director of CSV, said: “This crowns the Year of the Volunteer
and gives volunteers the recognition that they have always deserved.”
