Trustees and finance directors can now access information
about ethical funds available in the UK free of charge.
A new online fund database has been launched by Ethical
Screening, providing information on the ethical, environmental
and socially responsible funds offered in the UK. The system
also allows users to compile a personalised list of ethically
acceptable funds, based on their charity’s individual
list of ethical concerns.
It is hoped the database will help more investors throughout
the UK break into the ethical investment market. Lee Coates,
director of Ethical Screening, said it would also help to
inform financial advisors. “Even if advisors want
to advise on ethical investment, actually finding out how
many funds exist and who offers them has been difficult
in the past,” he said.
“With the launch of this free service, all advisors
will be able to discuss ethical concerns with their clients
and build a strong and compliant advice process,”
Coates added. “We very much believe that a product
such as this is long overdue.”
