The
Office of the Third sector is now tendering for a partner
to deliver its £1.2 million ‘Innovation Exchange’,
a new programme which aims to support the third sector’s
capacity to innovate.
The OTS said it was looking for creative bids for the project
which demonstrated value for money, the capacity to attract
and engage the third sector, the ability to integrate with
existing policies and public services, and which demonstrated
expertise in combining high quality on and offline activity.
The contract will be awarded in June of this year.
Ed Miliband, minister for the third sector, said: “A
clear message has come through from the sector about the need
for better mechanisms to ensure peer-to-peer learning and
to connect innovators with appropriate types of support. The
Innovation Exchange aims to support the sector’s ability
to make this happen. We are looking for a partner who can
use these resources to find new and effective ways of connecting,
supporting and developing the best innovators the sector has
to offer.”
The Tendering process will close on 14 May. If this sounds
interesting, email John Craig in the Office of the Third Sector
at john.craig@cabinet-office.x.gsi.gov.uk
to request the invitation to tender documents.
* The Cabinet Office is also tendering for a partner to deliver
the second phase of the Futurebuilders Fund, the contract
for which will run from 2008 to 2011. Campbell Robb, director
general of the OTS, said: “As the initial phase [of
Futurebuilders] nears its conclusion, the Fund must evolve
and build on the lessons of experience to date so it can continue
to enhance the third sector’s ability to transform people’s
lives.”
