The use of direct mail by charities increased by 9.1% between
the last quarters of 2005 and 2006, according to figures from
the Royal Mail.
This compared to an 18.8% increase for building society mail,
a 6% increase for the government and 5.7% for the health sector.
Overall, direct mail volumes between October and December
2006 fell with 958.69 million items sent, compared with a
billion during the same period in 2005.
