A major report into
the pensions crisis in the charity sector has been launched today. The
Charities Pensions Maze from the Charity Finance Directors Group (CFDG)
explores the current pensions situation and provides guidance for those
charities finding it difficult to cope.
Various recommendations
and case studies are given, including cases studies detailing the approach
taken by major charities such as Barnados and NSPCC.
In the foreword to
the document, Pensions Minister Malcolm Wicks said: "I very much
welcome this report from CFDG. It is an important contribution to the
pensions debate but it is also a clear and vital guide for charities and
trustees about the kind of issues they are going to face and the questions
that they need to ask. I thoroughly commend it to charities."
Copies of the executive
summary of the report are available on the CFDG website www.cfdg.org.uk
or by contacting sophie.chapman@cfdg.org.uk.
The full report is available for £10 from rebecca.dean@cfdg.org.uk.
