UK charity sector employers are wasting the talent of their
employees and failing to help them realise their potential,
according to research from business psychology consultancy
OPP.
The survey of 3,000 workers across six European countries
found 31% of UK-based employees believing their employer
was failing to help them realise their potential, while
19% believed their employers had no idea where their talents
lied. As a result, said OPP, 38% of those questioned were
committed to changing careers in the near future.
Commenting on the survey, OPP’s head of marketing
Lucy McGee said: “Once hired, it seems that many workers
are simply sat at their desk and given their job, with no
real thought put into how best to keep them motivated and
deploy them in a way that’s best for them and for
the company.”
