London Councils has released another £2 million for
the voluntary sector, in an attempt to help the capital’s
voluntary groups share best practice.
The London Councils Grants Committee has commissioned five
groups to offer support to organisations across the capital.
The largest share of the funding will go to Havering Association
of Voluntary Community Organisations, which will receive
£149,090 a year to work with groups in east London
developing sustainable communities in the Thames Gateway.
Central London CVS Network was granted £104, 363
a year to help pay for a coordinator and an information
officer to assist groups working in the centre of the city.
London Councils has also awarded £1.8 million to
support social enterprises working in the capital. It has
agreed to provide £450,000 a year to SETLL, a partnership
of five organisations working to develop and support social
enterprise.
