Aid, which in 2004 directly raised £685,000 (adjusted
to include Gift Aid) for its nine partnering charities, has
announced that it will be running again this November.
Will Aid recruits solicitors across the UK who donate their
time to draw up basic Wills, in return for which will-makers
are invited to make a donation of between £40 and
£110 depending on the level of service. In addition
to this donation, in the 2004 campaign £5.2 million
was pledged in legacies to the Will Aid charities.
Will Aid says the scheme goes beyond just its nine partners,
which include ActionAid, the British Red Cross and Sight
Savers International, as those drawing up wills through
the scheme are free to leave a legacy donation to whichever
charity they choose.
