Consultation launched on Code of Fundraising 11/07/05

Fundraisers are being invited to give their opinions on a new draft Code of Practice for Major Donor Fundraising.

Published by the Institute of Fundraising, the draft Code addresses legal, research, data protection and tax issues as well as exploring the relationship between donor and fundraiser.

Mide Akerewusi, head of High Value Appeals at Scope and chair of the Working Party, which has developed the Code over the past year, said: “This Code deals with one of the most exciting and financially rewarding fundraising techniques in the voluntary sector. It will be a useful resource to all who want to build their awareness of issues that directly impact on successful major donor fundraising, and it is also a helpful reminder to experienced fundraisers about how best to manage dynamic major donor relationships.”

To view and comment on the draft code, visit www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk before 30 September 2005.
