A new website has been launched by the Home Office, which aims to help people
get more involved with their local communities.
The Active Citizenship Centre
provides facts, figures and case studies on how people can make a difference
within society, and presents voluntary organisations with the opportunity
to bring stories and information to the attention of the public.
Charities minister, Fiona Mactaggart
said: “The Active Citizenship Centre website will give local groups,
especially in the voluntary sector, the information they need to get involved
in tackling problems in their own area. It will be a forum in which we
can debate how civil renewal can be taken forward and build practical
experience into policy-making.”

Centre can be found at www.active-citizen.org.uk
