Funding advice network is necessary, study finds 31/01/08

A feasibility study commissioned by the Finance Hub has concluded that a Funding Advice National Network (FANN) should be established to support the work of funding advisers to the third sector in England.

The study determined that such a network should exist as part of an existing third sector infrastructure organisation, and would likely be funded through membership fees, income generated through service provision and grants. The overall aim of the FANN would be for the provision of funding advice to become an established profession within the sector, with the FANN overseeing established standards among its participants.

The full study can be found at www.financehub.org.uk/projects/fann/default.aspa

Fit4funding, the lead body for the National Funding Advice Partnership, is seeking comments on the study. If you wish to participate contact Chris Hollins on 01924 239 063 or email chris.hollins@fit4funding.org.uk
