Charity Commission calls on sector to help reduce regulation 10/01/06

The Charity Commission is looking at whether it can reduce the burdens it places on charities as part of its simplification programme.

A spokesperson for the regulator said: “We have to work within the law, of course, but we are looking at the way our regulation impacts on charities and potential areas for change.”

The commission is asking the sector to put forward recommendations. A final simplification plan will then be drawn up – scheduled for publication in the summer. Any charities wishing to contribute can send their suggestions to simplification@charitycommission.gsi.gov.uk
