Charity Commission has launched a consultation on its approach
to Criminal Records Bureau checks for trustees working with
children or vulnerable adults.
The Commission said it was reviewing its policy of asking
for CRB disclosures for trustees before registering new
charities working with vulnerable beneficiaries. It said
it wanted to ensure that its policy was proportionate and
as appropriate and effective as possible, calling on charities
and other interested parties to put their views forward.
The consultation paperCriminal Records Bureau checks
of trustees of charities can be found on the Commission’s
website under ‘Promoting effective performance’.
The consultation closes on 11 May.
