charity ActionAid has launched a new website based on the
international networking site Myspace, giving fundraisers
and supporters a chance to meet online.
Like other fundraising websites, users will be able to
use the site to collect, monitor and invite donations. But
the site is also an online community, allowing users to
upload pictures and a blog, and to discuss their support
for the charity through the site.
The launch follows a revolution in third sector marketing,
which has seen major charities use sites such as Myspace
and the virtual world Second Life to reach a new pool of
potential supporters and donors.
