There are currently over 700 SIRs on the new-look site,
which is expected to grow to over 3,500 when all the relevant returns
are submitted. This is the first full year that charities with an annual
income of over £1 million have needed to complete an SIR as part
of their annual return.
Rosie Chapman, the Commission’s director of policy
and effectiveness, said: “The SIR was created as a tool for charities
to highlight their achievements and activities as well as meeting growing
demands for accountability… I’d encourage charities to see
their SIRs as a new opportunity to tell their story.”
