How can regulation be reduced, asks Charity Commission
09/12/05

Charities are being called upon to give their views on how their regulatory burden can be reduced.

The Charity Commission is asking for feedback as part of its “simplification” programme, within which it aims to eradicate some regulations, merge others into more realistic forms and reduce overlaps and inconsistencies.

Andrew Hind, the Commission’s chief executive, said:“It’s vital that charities are not hampered by unnecessary regulation and can use their resources to get on with the job in hand. Charities will have many ideas and suggestions about how we can help make this happen and we’re keen to hear their proposals for change.”

Government bodies across the board are involved with helping deliver the programme of change, which is led by the Better Regulation Executive. Charities and other organisations wishing to put across their views can do so by emailing simplification@charitycommission.gsi.gov.uk
