Richard Davidson, director of policy and public affairs
at CR-UK, said: “Campaigning is taking on an increasingly important
role across the whole sector. I’m pleased to see it being recognised
through awards such as this.”
Celebrating the hard work, time and effort dedicated to
good causes by both Peers and MPs, the awards aim to highlight the strong
relationship between Parliament and the voluntary and community sector.
There are 11 categories in all, ranging from Animal Welfare Champion through
to Health Champion.
This year there were two Lifetime Achievement winners, with Lord Carter
and Lord Morris of Manchester both being recognised for their work improving
the lives of disabled people.
