Changes announced to Futurebuilders board structure 16/08/07

There are changes afoot at Futurebuilders, which has announced that Charity Bank will be stepping down as a member from 31 March 2008 to be replaced by the Social Enterprise Coalition.

Its other founding members are NCVO, Unity Trust Bank and Northern Rock Foundation, each of whom have at least one director on the Futurebuilders board. The board itself is also going through changes, with the addition of Michele Giddens, executive director at Bridges Ventures and Tony Henfrey, an independent corporate turnaround chairman. Paul Harbard, a representative of Charity Bank, will also remain on the board in a personal capacity.

Futurebilders chair Peter Wheeler, who is also set to leave the organisation, said: “The unique combination of the voice of social enterprise – the Social Enterprise Coalition – and three directors with extensive experience of social investment will complement our existing team, as well as bring new and innovative ideas to the table.”
