In the first event
in the Institute of Fundraising’s Raising Your Voice series,
the new Fundraising Standards Board (FSB) unveiled its logo (pictured)
which will eventually be required to display on the fundraising materials
of organisations signed up to self-regulation.
The FSB is due to launch to the public in October 2006, and will begin
its recruitment of charities to the self-regulatory scheme for fundraising
in June. Organisations that sign up will be required to meet the best
practice standards outlined in the Donors’ Charter and the Institute
of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice.
The FSB’s logo
will serve as a quality marque on charity materials demonstrating commitment
to the highest standards of fundraising, and acting as a benchmark for
would be donors. The FSB’s remit will include monitoring compliance
with the Codes through a consumer-facing complaints procedure.

Details of the FSB and its planned role will also appear in the May/June
issue of Charity Times.
