Further help and advice offered for Hubs 12/04/06

A Hubs helpdesk has been launched in an effort to reduce confusion among voluntary organisations of where to go for Hubs related advice. The helpdesk offers advice on four of the six Hubs of Expertise: governance, workforce, performance and ICT.

A spokesperson for the Hubs said that plans for Volunteering and Finance Hub helpdesks have been considered but nothing definite has yet been proposed.

the helpdesk can be contacted either by phone or email and is likely to be particularly helpful for smaller, under funded voluntary and community organisations which are unable to afford professional expertise. The contact details are the following:

Governance Hub: 0800 652 4886 governance.hub@ncvo-vol.org.uk
ICT Hub: 0800 652 4737 helpdesk@icthub.org.uk
Performance Hub: 0800 652 5787 helpline@perfomancehub.org.uk
Workforce Hub: 0800 652 5737 helpdesk@ukworkforcehub.org.uk

This week has also seen the introduction of a new Performance Hub website www.performancehub.org.uk which enables VCOs to gain easy access to information on how they can 'achieve more'.

Richard Piper, joint manager of the Performance Hub, says the website will provide tips for charities on how to make their organisations more effective and how to get funding for performance improvement initiatives. It also suggests ways of gaining support from outside the Performance Hub.
