Working for a Charity is calling
for voluntary and community organisations to host work placement schemes
for people participating in its Foundation Course.
The foundation course allows
those interested in working in the sector to get a feel for what’s
involved and includes a 20 day placement within a charity where the participant
can get hands on experience. Working for a Charity is looking for suitable
host charities that would be willing to offer opportunities which not
only would be of help to itself but will also provide a useful learning
experience.
Elaine Smethurst of Working
for a Charity said: “The foundation course placements could involve
admin work, organising events, helping with fundraising, finance or business
strategy development. Participants will come from a wide range of backgrounds
and offer a great variety of skills and experience at all levels of responsibility
to senior executives.”
There are no costs involved
to the charity although it is recommended that travel expenses are refunded.
The host charity will be asked to provide a brief resume of what was achieved
during the placement.
