Access to better
funding is the key concern of the sector, according to a recent poll by
Amicus, the union for voluntary and not-for-profit organisations.
The poll, which was
taken at last week’s Charity Fair conference, asked which issues
the sector would like Amicus to campaign on, and found that 39.79% of
the 300 voters wanted longer funding cycles in order to increase job security
and stability for service users.
Just over 23% of the
vote was for more workforce development and training opportunities, and
included the call for integrated programmes to raise management standards
and to train and develop staff. 17.3% wanted Amicus to tackle violence
and anti-social behaviour in and around frontline services and 13.49%
wanted flexible working for all.
Anna Burton of Amicus
said: “It was no surprise that funding came out on top, however
we do plan to look at all the issues identified.”
The poll is still
open and all sector members are welcome to have their say. To vote, log
