National Payroll Giving Awards welcome entries 06/03/09

Employers with a 2009 Payroll Giving Quality Mark Award are encouraged to submit an entry to the National Payroll Giving Awards sponsored by Payroll Giving in Action, which showcases the best examples of UK employers’ Payroll Giving schemes.

This year sees two new Award categories, celebrating the best ‘Public Sector Employer’ and ‘Third Sector Employer’ recognising these two sectors commitment to Payroll Giving.

The closing date for Award submissions is 10th July 2009.

The Awards, introduced in the 20th year of Payroll Giving, are an Institute of Fundraising initiative.

Funded by government, the Awards are administered by the Payroll Giving Centre.

Lee Grant, tax-effective giving roject manager at the Institute of Fundraising, said: “Payroll Giving is an important source of income for charities, and last year raised £109million for good causes. The National Payroll Giving Awards help us to recognise those employers who have gone the extra mile, particularly during this period of economic turbulence, in providing innovative and successful Payroll Giving schemes to their employees.

“We welcome applications from all business sectors, and this autumn will be presenting the winners with their awards at a high profile ceremony at HM Treasury.”
