The BBC has appointed Amy Coyte to the new role of director
of the BBC Wildlife Fund.
Along with a staff team, Coyte will work on promoting the
BBC Wildlife Fund, developing partnerships across the wildlife
sector, creating off-air events as part of the 2010 broadcast
appeal and generating fundraising income for grants for
worldwide conservation charitable causes.
“I am looking forward to working for the BBC Wildlife
Fund and with all those involved in harnessing the creative
power of the media for wildlife conservation,” said
Coyte who has worked in managerial roles in a number of
different wildlife charities.
The BBC Wildlife Fund is supported through public and corporate
donations, and raised £1.8mil as a result of the Saving
Planet Earth season of programmes in the summer of 2007.
