Bank attracts beneficial deposits from individuals and
companies and creates a source of affordable loan finance
for charitable organisations that do not have sufficient
track records to attract mainstream finance, or can only
do so on unaffordable terms. From the first pilot loan
in 1995, Charity Bank has provided over £30 million
of loans to 400 organisations, unlocking a further £100
million of funding. |

Smith also provides education through a seminar programme,
sponsors exhibitions in order to raise awareness of the
sector, and produces a wide range of materials to inform

leading ethical bank, Triodos both provides banking services
to charities and is actively involved in the sector. On
the banking side it has developed a number of innovative
banking and investment products, including methods of
fundraising and loans. Triodos also actively participates
in the sector, sponsoring knowledge sharing schemes, being
involved in a number of events and supporting a bursary
scheme, all of which help charities to increase their
income. |
