WINNER: HelpAge International
HelpAge
International is a global network of not-for-profit
organisations with a mission to work with, and for,
disadvantaged older people worldwide to achieve a lasting
improvement in the quality of their lives. It does this
by supporting practical programmes, giving a voice to
older people, and influencing policy at local, national
and international levels. The judges were impressed
by the use of new technology to reach disparate groups
with low access to information. They have also shown
an understanding of and have successfully deployed technology
that ‘includes’.
