Treasury invites bids for Libor funding

Charities are invited to apply for the next round of funding to be made available from fines levied on banks for interest rate rigging.

HM Treasury has opened the funding to projects and organisations within the scope of military and emergency services charities and other related good causes.

In 2012 HM Treasury announced fines collected from banks for rigging the London interbank offered rate would be used to support good causes. Successive Budgets and Autumn Statements have made tranches of funding available to specific charities and projects.

Treasury said it is expected there will be significant interest in this round of funding, and applications are invited until 15 September.
