The Stroke Association is the UK's leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke. There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK - almost two thirds have a disability and one third rely on others for help, making stroke one of the biggest causes of disability.
This is a very exciting time to join the Stroke Association and presents an ambitious fundraising leader with an opportunity to make their mark. The Stroke Association is preparing a new five-year organisational strategy which will set out a new vision for conquering the devastating human consequences of stroke. Philanthropists, foundations, companies and their employees will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the new goals. A significant increase in funding is required, and the successful candidate will play an important role in shaping, and then leading the implementation of a new strategy for support from these key stakeholders.
This role will provide a real opportunity for an accomplished leader with demonstrable, progressive personal experience of developing high value relationships. The successful candidate will lead a team of talented and ambitious fundraising specialists, empowering them to maximise income and non-cash strategic value from partnerships; in turn enabling the Stroke Association to extend both the reach and impact of it's work.
In order to be considered for this role you will bring significant experience of managing high performing staff teams and supporting their personal development. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record in making 'the ask' and meeting revenue targets. You will have an ability to develop productive relationships both internally and externally, and demonstrate a commitment to the Stroke Association's corporate values. Ideally, you will have knowledge of trends, techniques and best practice in major gifts and corporate fundraising.
