Newground Together, a Charity based in the North of England, is seeking to recruit for three voluntary posts. There are vacancies for two Trustees to join The Charity Board and also for a non-executive Board Member for its wholly owned Community Interest Company (Newground CIC).
Our charitable objects are;
• The conservation, protection and improvement of the physical environment for public benefit
• Urban and rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation
• The provision of recreation and leisure facilities in the interests of social welfare
• To advance the life chances of young people
• Education and training
We are part of the Together Housing Group, a northern based social landlord with c38,000 properties in East Lancashire, Yorkshire and the Humber. The Charity also advises on social value opportunities in the wider Group’s activity where our charitable objects can be furthered.
We are seeking a strong balance of skills, experience and knowledge, and would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with expertise in community development, health & wellbeing and employment training. In addition we recognise the importance of diversity at Trustee level and would therefore especially welcome applications from women and people from minority ethnic backgrounds as they are currently under represented on our Boards.
Charity Trustee (2 vacancies)
The Board of Trustees meets quarterly and collectively oversees the Charity’s annual business plan and provides support and challenge to the executive staff for efficient and compliant delivery against the Charity’s objects.
Community Interest Company (CIC) Board member (1 vacancy)
The Community Interest Company Board meets around 5 times per year and oversees delivery of the CIC’s annual business plan. Surpluses from the services delivered by Newground CIC are transferred to the Charity at the end of each financial year.
