Deafness Support Network (DSN) appoints a new chief executive just in time for the New Year.
Bob Birchall, 41, starts his new Chief Executive role at the charity this month and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his work across both private and public sector healthcare services.
Starting his career in sales and marketing, Birchall progressed to working across a blue-chip client base.
His work with an NHS client led to him moving on to the Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority where he took on designing, developing and delivering tailored support and learning programs across the region.
Birchall's latest role before deciding to join DSN was for a mental health trust after an opportunity arose for a Divisional Director.
As well as taking responsibility for a directorate, he developed the Trust's marketing strategy which was part of a successful application to become a Foundation Trust.
Birchall commented: “I’ve been aware of DSN for many years and have respect and admiration for the work they do. I’m very excited to now be a part of the charity and I aim to provide a strong voice for our service users. I’m particularly eager to tackle some of the issues surrounding inequality in both health and society.”
DSN operations executive Gill Reeder added: "Bob's extensive experience in the health sector makes him the perfect addition to the team here at DSN."

In the survey by pollsters AngusReid, only a third thought EU membership had been positive for the country...
