The Charity Times 2008 Awards were a huge success, with over
450 people attending this year’s event.
Tyneside Cyrenians were the proud winners of The Charity
of the Year Award.
Tyneside Cyrenians CEO Stephen Bell said: “Being
Charity of the Year is an outstanding accomplishment and
we are so pleased that our continued efforts and outstanding
services have been recognised.”
Georgie Fienberg was the proud winner of the Outstanding
Individual Achievement Award.
Georgie could not attend the ceremony, but she told Charity
Times: “I was absolutely stunned to hear that, at
the Charity Times Awards, I was given the award for Outstanding
Individual Achievement. This is something that never even
crossed my mind as a possibility but I’m delighted
and feel extremely honoured to have received it –
thank you all so much.”
Mark Cann was also a popular choice for Charity Principal
of the Year. Cann, CEO of the British Forces Foundation,
commented: “The award meant so much to me, but more
to the very small but very dedicated team that work for
the BFF.”
The awards recognise outstanding achievement in the varied
fields of management, honouring the individuals and teams
among you who set the professional standards by which your
peers can benchmark themselves.
This year’s judging was very tough as the calibre
of entries was exceptionally high. A big congratulations
therefore should go to all the winners and those who were
shortlisted.
